The Brass Orchestra Rozga

SlikaThe Brass Orchestra Rozga is based in Dubravica, which is a municipality situated in the western part of Zagreb county about 30 kms from the capital city Zagreb.
Dubravica is a region with more than a hundred years˙ long tradition in brass music. The hardworking people who live here have preserved their customs, dialect and spirit through the turbulent historic times putting their faith in Saint Ana - their patron saint.
The first members of the Brass Orchestra Rozga got together in 1902. The orchestra celebrated their 105th anniversary last year. They received numerous congratulations, awards as well as the acknowledgment for their achievements in the field of amateurism and enrichment of the Croatian cultural life. For that occasion the orchestra have issued their second CD and the first DVD.
In the last 10 years the orchestra have achieved the best results on the regional competitions of the brass orchestras of Zagreb county.
In 1998. they won the silver plaque in the state competition and bronze in 2004. In 2006 it was given the highest marks in a state competition as the best orchestra of Zagreb County in its category.
The orchestra has performed in many European countries, such as: Slovenia, Italy, France, Austria, Hungary as well as all over Croatia. Numerous famous Croatian artists performed alongside the orchestra.
The orchestra conductor is prof. Miro Taradi.
